The Live Action "Bleach" Movie Is Coming to Japan In The Summer of 2018

Since the show aired in Japan in 2004, Bleach has been widely regarded as one of the best anime series of all time. Based on Tite Kubo's manga of the same name, Bleach ran for an impressive sixteen seasons. A few years ago, when the live action movie was announced, reactions were mixed amongst the dedicated fan base. As we've discussed many times in the past, live action adaptations of anime don't often impress. Updates from Warner Brothers about the production have been slim, and apart from a short teaser in 2017, we don't have much information about this project. According to IMDB, the Director is Shinsuke Sato (known for Gantz, and I am Hero), the writer is listed as Tite Kubo (manga), and the only actor listed is Sôta Fukushi as Ichigo Kurosaki. The Japanese release date is set to be some time this summer with no word on the US or European release.
