The Witcher series goes to Netflix

Multiple sources are reporting that Netflix is going to create a series based on novels that inspire the incredible video game series "The Witcher"

The author of the books, Andrzej Sapkowski will be directly involved as a creative consultant. He said" “I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories, staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing,” he wrote. “I’m excited about our efforts together, as well as the team assembled to shepherd these characters to life.”

Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko from the Polish visual effects studio, Platige Image are involved which is great news as they have created the CGI cutscenes and intros for the Witcher video games. They said "“There is a moral and intellectual depth in these books which goes beyond genre. It is a story about today and today’s challenges, hidden under a fantasy cover. It is a story about us, about the monster and hero inside of all our hearts."

It sounds like the people involved truly care about the project and will give it the treatment all fans of the novels and games deserve.

I personally can not wait for more news! Let the casting speculation begin!
