In Search of Darkness Documentary Makes Fans Out of Nostalgia
If by now you haven’t heard, a nostalgic documentary on 80’s horror is currently in the midst of a massive crowdfunding campaign. From the team at CreatorVC who are bringing us In Search of the Last Action Heros comes In Search of Darkness: A Journey Iconic 80’s Horror. Having developed a strong following through September, the Kickstarter campaign for the project was officially launched at the beginning of October and has steadily been attaching loads of talent and tons of support from horror fans all over the world. The film is set to feature interviews from horror greats such as: Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator), Joe Dante (Director of Gremlins and the Howling), David Michael Latt (Creator of the Sharknado series), Leigh Whanell (Actor/writer of Saw and director of Upgrade) and so many more.

It’s incredible to see the success so far attributed to something created by fans and supported by fans which just goes to show how much of a factor an audience can have in producing such a project. With tiers named after iconic horror characters, you can chose to support in exchange for rewards from shout-outs, digital or physical copies of the film when it comes out, the soundtrack, shirts designed with the poster art and of course the posters themselves. One of which has been designed by resident NCU admin Clayton and another designed by the legendary horror artist Graham Humphreys. Head on over to the page to see how far they’ve come and keep checking back for updates the closer Halloween draws near and let us know if you’re looking forward to seeing more of this type of documentary in the future!
