Voldemort: Heir to a Fan Made Potter Film

As you may have seen just last week a fairly well produced trailer was posted to YouTube of a fan fiction entry into the Harry Potter series. Voldemort: Origins of the Heir would tell the story of how Tom Riddle came to be Voldemort and the beginnings of his path to darkness... or as wikipedia puts it:

Voldemort: Origins of the Heir depicts the story of Tom Riddle's rise to power and the subsequent loss of his nose.

What originally began as a crowd-funded campaign, Tryangle films trailer drew the attention of Warner Bros Studio and was subsequently suspended due to copyright, however creators Gianmaria Pezzato and Stefano Prestia later had a private discussion with Warner Bros on the matter which helped push the project to move forward with approval from the studio as it will be a non-profit film and release for free on YouTube towards the end of 2017.

WRITER OPINION: Personally, as good as the teaser looks, if JK Rowling is not included as a creative consult, this cannot be included in the canon. I support fan films and I'm glad Warner Brothers is allowing them to create their film, but there should certainly be a disclaimer that it's from outside the mind of JK Rowling. - Joshua Buckmaster
