The Night HE came home... Again

Not sure if you were aware but the Halloween franchise is about to be revitalized yet again with another reboot of the series. Seeing how this didn't go so well in the late 90's (we're looking at you H20.. smh) and didn't really pay off with Rob Zombies vision, who wouldn't blame you for being less than thrilled. BUT, dare I say you might change your mind after hearing this will actually be a follow up to John Carpenters original 2 films! And to make things slightly more interesting this will be from the vision of Danny Mcbride (East-bound & Down, Alien: Covenant) and co-writer David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Joe, East-Bound & Down) also in the directors seat. While they aren't necessarily known for horror, they are both huge fans of Carpenter and seek to give it a well deserved treatment by having it pick up around where the second film left things and also changing up the mythos of the iconic Michael Myers by taking away the invincibility factor he's so well known for throughout the franchise, making things a bit more grounded in realism this time around.

On speaking to Empire Magazine on the newest Alien film he stars in, Mcbride also had the following to offer:

“I think we’re just trying to strip it down and just take it back to what was so good about the original. It was just very simple and just achieved that level of horror that wasn’t corny. And it wasn’t turning Michael Myers into some supernatural being that couldn’t be killed— that stuff to me isn’t scary. I want to be scared by something that I really think could happen. I think it’s much more horrifying to be scared by someone standing in the shadows while you’re taking the trash out as opposed to someone who can’t be killed pursuing you.”
